What is Adventure Boudoir? & How did it start?
This is probably my most frequently asked question and understandably so!
Boudoir is just now becoming a word that people recognize as a form of intimate and sensual photography. As we all know, words change and shift with the generations and boudoir is no exception to that! I’ve been a professional boudoir photographer since 2017, running a very successful studio in the suburbs of Chicago for several years serving hundreds of clients.
When people ask, how did I get started, I can only really give you the long version, and a starting sentence that makes people’s heads cock like a listening dog.
Adventure Boudoir started because I’ve been on long and deep path, following my authenticity.
The fact that I even started a boudoir company was an act of fate that I didn’t seek out, but that came to me. In late 2016 a friend asked me to photograph a boudoir session for her husbands upcoming birthday. She had seen my other portraits and loved my style and wondered if it was something that I would be interested in doing.
My answer??
“What is boudoir?”
That cracks me up just reading it.
I think we can all guess that I said yes and fell in love with the art form. Holding an intimate space for people to explore their creativity and sensuality? while creating artwork that outlives their lifetimes? Well, it’s the only way I can fathom spending my time in a career! Previous to boudoir photography, I photographed weddings as an assistant, learning from a wonderful and patient mentor.
I had always LOVED the bride.
The bride to me was this rare form of woman who would accept compliments for an entire day.
She shamelessly allowed herself to be the most beautiful woman in the room.
She tucked away guilt and shame to celebrate the love she had found.
The day I discovered boudoir photography did the same thing for women,
but on a random Tuesday, I never looked back!
So, what is Adventure Boudoir Photography?! To be honest, I might have made it up. Well, the whole, getting nude outdoors for photography I can’t claim but the term Adventure Boudoir, I just spit out one day and ran with it.
I, like my clients, am an adventurous soul.
I want to climb it, float it, see it, fly to it, hike to it, drive to it, and when I’m there, I’m gonna make a piece of art to remember it.
Some people like souvenirs, I like creating art.
My creating art in nature and passion for boudoir photography got married went exclusive as a full time pair! Studio boudoir is beautiful, I spent many years dedicated to it but like I said earlier, I’ve been on a path of authenticity and this is my most authentic form of creating art for the intentional souls that find me.

I offer sessions in two types of ways. Private, 1 on 1 clients and group travel dates.
My private clients range from meeting me in Central Oregon for a day of hiking and photography, to meeting at a bucket list location to have the photo session of their dreams! We can host your session a mile into the wilderness, 2 hours of 4x4 off roading, an overnight of camping for sunrise?! It’s really just a matter of how adventurous do you wanna be?! Every private client gets a unique experience, built specifically to them and their vision. (If you just thought to yourself “I don’t have a vision this just sounds amazing”) That’s perfectly fine cause I’ve got several questionnaires for you to fill out so we can discover the vision together!
My travel dates are voted on by followers and subscribers and released every year the day after Thanksgiving! I travel to the most popular requests and host 2 hour condensed versions of my sessions for 5 people per trip. Locations for travel dates tend to be easier to get to and shorter hikes. You can book a travel session in your home state or travel to a location you’ve always dreamed of! My travel dates for adventure boudoir sessions are a great way to have the experience for less of an investment and those who want to book again and again and again!

FAQ’s
Do men do Adventure Boudoir with you? Yes! I photograph all people and couples! Couples sessions are the same investment as single person sessions.
Do I have to be physically fit? My private sessions are created on a client by client basis so we can fit all physical abilities into planning! For travel sessions, please see the details for the location of your interest to see if the walk/hike in fits your physical abilities.
What if there are other people? There’s always that chance. I try my damndest to find us private, off the beaten places to let our freak flags fly! See THIS BLOG about how I choose locations! But, I won’t lie to you, there’s always a slight chance. Locations for travel dates will state how likely there are to be other people on a location to location basis. Private sessions are built together with your preferences in mind.
